Construction Cost Consultants were engaged by the Alliance – comprising Waka Kotahi, KiwiRail, Downer, and Higgins – to support the $3.5 billion recovery, rebuild, and maintenance programme for highways and railways across the Hawke’s Bay, Napier, and Gisborne regions. This extensive undertaking followed the devastating damage caused by Cyclone Gabrielle and subsequent flooding.
Our role involved providing expert guidance in contract and framework negotiations, as well as managing the post-contract payment process. Leading a dedicated team of Quantity Surveyors, we played a pivotal role in delivering emergency response and improvement works, ensuring the restoration of critical transport infrastructure was both efficient and effective.
